Man Shot on Boardwalk

A man is sent to the hospital in critical condition Saturday night. No one is arrested.

Crowds on the boardwalk scattered Saturday evening when a man was shot near 17th Street and Ocean Front Walk.

No one was arrested, and LAPD Sgt. Darryl Martin told City News Service Saturday night that police had no witnesses. As of 9 a.m. Sunday, no one was arrested. Martin said that he did not know if the shooting was gang-related.

There was a disturbance at McDonald's on Venice Boulevard shortly after, which may have been gang-related. LAPD is investigating, City News Service reported.

Kinda makes one wonder if LAPD is deploying its Venice resources in the most effective way.

I actually saw the video of the shooting, on the YO,venice web, site from here in OC, I think now because of that shooting on the venice broad walk, I think there needs now to be tighter securrity in that area before anything else like that happens again, and I do think now that this has happend in that area, the police need to patrol the venice broad walk, more, and look out for any GANGS that dont belong there on the broad walk, because I think too that the venice broad walk needs to be a place for where familys can go enjoy the beach, and play, and not half to worrie about gettin shot, and the venice broad walk needs to be a place for familys, and to be made family friendly, and not a place where Gang bangers wind up shooting each,other.......and yes I do think now there needs to be more police patrols on the venice broad before anything else like this happens again....
