Good for you Karl! Our founders made it possible for citizens in this country to debate, run forRead More office, hold office if they are dedicated, sincere, and driven. You don't need a PHD to do a whole lot of good. Maybe you have one, but it is immaterial because you will be more than worthy if you win. The LAUSD could use a lot of improvement, starting with the food served the children and that has been publicized as wholly wasted and trashed. Did anyone ever taste the stuff? The press never asked that question. The teachers won't eat it, and neither will the kids as they would rather go hungry. I went to schools as did my children in N.Y. Denver, Chicago, and Miami. The kids looked forward to lunch time. The food was freshly cooked right there on the premises and they had choices ans they walked down the cafeteria line. This horrible stuff is prepared at a central factory and then is trucked to distant locations by freeway. Packing and transporting it takes enormous manpower, time, gasoline, truck maintenance and purchasing equipment and mechanics, and is gruesomely expensive. I can't help wondering who is making all of the dough, money that is, and how the contracts are awarded. Is there a bidding process? The press has not asked but we should know. Cafeterias would cost so much less. It is not fresh or well prepared. I have no proof, but I have long wondered if somebody is getting rich.
