Today in Venice-Mar Vista: 1414 Main St., Abrams Hotel to Be Discussed at Meetings

Weigh in on proposed developments in Venice and Santa Monica Airport issues at important meetings this week.

Here are five things for your Wednesday and beyond in Venice-Mar Vista:  

  1.  A mixed-use development of 91,968-square-feet in a four-story 46-foot tall building at 1414 Main St. is on the agenda of the Venice Neighborhood Council's Land Use and Planning Commission Wednesday from 6:45-9 p.m. at the Oakwood Recreation Center, 767 California Ave. Agenda here.
  2. A meeting about all things Santa Monica Airport will be held Thursday from 7-8 p.m. by the Mar Vista Community's Santa Monica Airport Ad-Hoc Committee. The meeting will be held at The Coffee Connection at the corner of Venice and Centinela boulevards. The agenda is here.
  3. The Abrams and 1414 Main St. projects are on the agenda for a Thursday night meeting of the Venice Neighborhood Council Ad Hoc Committee on Mass and Scale. The committee will discuss if either one of these projects should be studied for mass and scale. Te meeting is set for 7:30-9 p.m. at the Oakwood Recreation Center, 767 California Ave.
  4. An online petition to "save" the neighborhood from the proposed development at 1414 Main St. is here.
  5. A change.org petition asking a medical marijuana business owner not to continue with his plans to move his business to 3472 S. Centinela Blvd. is online. The petition and comments are here.
