Why Go: Don't miss the biggest ! Sponsored by the Mar Vista Community Council in conjunction with community organizations and local businesses, there will be live entertainment, food, arts and crafts booths, community information booths, inflatable bouncers for kids and an art expo. And Farmers' Market Manager Diana Rodgers will be honored at the event.

Where/When: , 12006 Venice Blvd, Los Angeles, CA. Sat. Oct. 15 10 a.m. - 4 p.m

Why Go: Find a great deal on a wide selection of  books featuring adult, teen and children's paperbacks, hardcovers, as well as CDs, videos, DVDs and more.

Where/When: , 12958 W Washington Blvd, Los Angeles, CA. Sat. Oct. 15, 5 - 7 p.m.

Why Go: Come meet and mingle with environmental artist Marina DeBris. DeBris creates "precious jewels" containing washed up pieces of plastic and air gun pellets to highlight the problems of ocean pollution. The show will be up through October 26.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When:, 10858 Culver Blvd. Sun. Oct. 16, 8  - 10 p.m.

Why Go: You don't have to drive all the way to Hollywood to see some of the best improv ensembles in Los Angeles and beyond. Just head to neighboring Culver City for a night of fun and laughter.

One year, long ago, Alice Coltrane performed. Anyone know the year? Definitely in the 70's.
