Learn To Surf L.A. Hosts Free Lessons For Braille Institute Students

The local surf school is partnering with the nonprofit organization to provide blind children with an opportunity to catch some waves.

Learn To Surf L.A. a local surf school is again partnering with the Braille Institute of Los Angeles to provide free surf lessons to blind children. Lessons yesterday took place in Venice Beach and will continue Thursday in Manhattan Beach.

“This is a great opportunity for these kids to safely experience catching and riding a wave, one of the most exhilarating sensations out there,” stated owner Pat Murphy. “We are happy to be continuing our relationship with the Braille Institute in providing this opportunity to these kids.”

Learn To Surf L.A. offers private surf lessons and summer surf camps in Venice, Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach, Malibu and Los Angeles. The Braille Institute, a non profit organization, works to eliminate barriers to a fulfilling life caused by blindness and severe sight loss by integrating social, educational and recreational programs.
