Local Makes Mini-Documentary to Defend Venice Drum Circle

The video doesn't deny recent clashes with police, but blames outsiders and alcohol. Do you agree?

Alex Mannone knows the Venice Beach drum circle has gotten some bad press lately; so he's made a mini-documentary to make the weekly event's case.

In just under 10 minutes, the 15-yea Venice resident explains how tough life can be, how cemented over Los Angeles is, and how the drum circle is the antidote to all that -- and more.

The video acknowledges recent problems, such as noise and police confrontations. But Mannone puts the blame on outsiders and alcohol, not the locals who just want to unwind and rejuvenate themselves mentally, physically and spiritually.
