Video: Diana Rodgers Honored at Mar Vista Fall Festival
The Farmers' Market Manager was honored by the Mar Vista Community Council for helping to create a sense of community in the neighborhood. Councilman Bill Rosendahl made the presentation.
To great applause, Councilman Bill Rosendahl honored Mar Vista Farmers' Market Manager Diana Rodgers as she took to the main stage to receive her certificate at the Mar Vista Fall Festival at Mar Vista Park on Saturday.
"We're here...to honor a great lady," Rosendahl told the assembled crowd. "A great lady that has turned Mar Vista, every Sunday into a community forum...It is a farmers market that is built for the family. It's wholesome, it's healthy, there's music and entertainment. You can bring the kids, bring grandma. It is truly a remarkable addition, a real town forum that has given Mar Vista a lot of love and sense of community... But you know behind every success story is one person who is there all the time on Sunday, mixing and mingling and making sure we've got a booth on this and a booth on that and we've got a great organic thing over here...She's kind of the mayor of us all on a Sunday afternoon. If you want to meet a person who brings community together it's the person we are honoring right now: Diane Rodgers.
