'Old Glory' Back in Top Form in Venice Beach

The tattered and torn U.S. flag that was flying above Venice Beach has been replaced.

The tattered and torn U.S. flag that had been flying above Venice Beach at Windward Plaza has been replaced and there's a new California flag, too.

"Old Glory" earlier this year looked anything but glorious, but city officials were aware of the problem and working to fix it. A staffer at the Venice Beach Recreation Center said maintenance crews put the flags up about a week ago.

The U.S. and California flags were unfurled and flapping in a mild breeze Tuesday under sunny skies at Venice Beach.

Let me clarify: All I tried to do was re-link to the video that was dumped when Patch revised itsRead More format. The Festival of the Chariots won't be coming to Venice for months.
