Rescue Pet of the Week: Gina the Schnauzer Mix

Gina has had her fair share of hard knocks and is now looking for a loving home. How can you resist this sweet face?

My name is Gina and I am a young Schnauzer mix. I have a really soft, gorgeous coat and seem to be very special because everyone who sees me tells me so.

I was abandoned, and the woman who found me took me to a vet to make sure I was okay, then had me groomed because my coat was so badly matted. She had to find a place for me right away as she was going to leave the country the next day. The rescue she tried had no room for me so she brought me here to Friends of Animals Foundation where there really wasn't room either, but they just couldn't turn me away.

Friends of Animals discovered I have Cherry Eye and although it's not dangerous, they took me to the veterinarian to have it taken care of. Cherry Eye is a third eyelid that slips out of place and looks like a red blob in the corner of the eye. That third eyelid protects and moisturizes our eyes through the tear ducts. Well, the vet fixed it up and now I'm more beautiful than ever!
