Venice Holiday Events This Weekend

Venice merchants will stay open late and it will snow in Venice.

Venice will be celebrating the holidays this weekend, and residents and visitors will be able to enjoy roving carolers, vintage tram rides, real snow and of course Santa Claus will be arriving from the North Pole.

The Holiday Stroll on Abbot Kinney Boulevard will take place Saturday from 7-10 p.m. with most shops staying open late. Attendants will be able to vote for best store window display.

On Sunday, families can enjoy winter crafts and kids can tell Santa what they want for Christmas at the Family Funday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Abbot Kinney Boulevard. Santa and his elves will be at the Brig parking lot from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

The Venice Meet will also take place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Westminster Elementary parking lot.

The LAPD Pacific Division is holding a holiday toy drive for underprivileged children and toys will be collected at the Holiday Stroll and Family Fun Day.

One year, long ago, Alice Coltrane performed. Anyone know the year? Definitely in the 70's.
