Venice's Week Ranges from Post Office Controversy to Post No Bills

Catch up on what to do in Venice this week.

It's the last week of July already, but in the  there is still plenty to do in Venice.

On Tuesday, check out a benefit for St. Vincent Meals on Wheels from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Bar Pintxo. Two outstanding chefs, Joe Miller from and David Plonowski from Bar Pintxo, join together for "Cart For A Cause," which will be offering gourmet meals, including food, drink and a cookie, for $10. The U.S. Postal Service the historic at Windward Circle and consolidating services at the Post Office Annex on Grand Boulevard. The Venice Neighborhood Council's ad hoc Post Office Task Force is holding a meeting on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at (the old Venice Police Station), at 685 Venice Blvd. Stop by and let your voice be heard.

On Tuesday afternoon, the will have another screening in its Summer Family Movie series. This week will have "a tale of three unlikely heroes—a misfit mouse who prefers reading books to eating them, an unhappy rat who schemes to leave the darkness of the dungeon, and a bumbling servant girl with cauliflower ears." The Venice Neighborhood Council will hold an extra meeting Thursday night at 7 at the Vera Davis Center to discuss both the post office relocation and a draft Ocean Front Walk Ordinance, which is part of the .

Also on Thursday night there will be an art reception at the new print shop and gallery on Abbot Kinney Boulevard.
