Bands, floats and equestrian units celebrate the theme "Under the Sea."

Celebrating the theme "Under the Sea," bands, floats and equestrian units paraded through Chatsworth's Devonshire Street business district Sunday.

The annual Kiwanis-organized Chatsworth Holiday Parade attracted crowds of all ages just waiting for Santa to wave from the very last float.

There was also a festival with community and craft booths, and a bandshell, as well as a car show featuring classic vehicles and low-riders.

The parade would have been enhanced if the organizers had asked Bob Miller to bring the Stanley Cup, so we could take pictures next to the trophy at the parade terminus. Interesting that our councilmember was riding astride a Cadillac, while others had more middle class transport. Perhaps the dignitaries should be riding horses or using horse drawn conveniences, given the history of our community.

The equestrians from Stoney Point were awesome. Their under the sea decorations where so cool, and seeing that many horses lined in a row so impressive.
