Video: Vigil Honors Victims of Hit-and-Run

The Venice community reacts to Saturday's tragedy with a vigil and fundraising efforts.

Candle Cafe manager Dennis Walker organized a vigil to help the community begin healing, Monday. Italian newlywed Alice Gruppioni was killed and 16 were injured after Nathan Louis Campbell allegedly drove onto the Venice Beach Boardwalk on Saturday.

“We wanted to show our support for the local community that has supported us, the Candle Cafe, for 19 years,” said Walker.

Hundreds walked along the boardwalk in a procession led by councilman Mike Bonin to lay flowers and light candles near a memorial where Gruppioni was killed. Flowers were donated by Whole Foods and a fundraiser through tech hub Silicon Beach will benefit victims from the crash.

By visiting WhenYouWish.Com, businesses and individuals can donate either goods or services, which are converted to cash donations.
