The Venice branch of Gallery 1988 opens with another collaborative show looking back at 1980s pop culture.

Artists such as Jason Weidel remember the early video game era through Super Mario Brothers references, but artists like Dave Perillo bring up a little more obscure references, so whether you were a hard-core gamer in the 1980s or just a casual observer, there is something in the show that will resonate. The ever-popular Greg Simpkins will also be showing at the gallery.

The opening reception is Friday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
