How to Get to the Oscars (Concert)

The general public will have a chance to see live performances of the nominees for Best Song and Best Score.

Can’t get enough of the musical numbers at the Oscars? No, not the host comedic lead-ins, the performances of the nominated songs.

Wish you could also hear the scores?

Oscar-philes, your night has come. Put on your best jewels and gowns (or tux) and head to Royce Hall 8 p.m. Thursday for the first—ever Oscar concert.

This year’s nominees for Best Song – which will be performed Thursday – are:

“Happy” from Despicable Me 2 
“Let It Go” from Frozen 
“The Moon Song” from Her 
“Ordinary Love” from Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom

The nominees for Best Score are:

The Book Thief, composed by John Williams
Gravity, composed by Steven Price
Her, composed by William Butler and Owen Pallett
Philomena, composed by Alexandre Desplat
Saving Mr. Banks, composed by Thomas Newman

Tickets for the public cost $100 in the orchestra section, $75 for the balcony. Academy members pay a little less.
