Venice Arts will host an opening reception for "Shipping & Receiving: Photographs and Letters between Venice, CA and Dupree, SD" a collaboration of 22 young artists on Saturday.
The young artists, ranging from 12 to 21 years of age, are from Dupree, South Dakota's My Viewpoint Photography Program and from the Venice area. They have been exchanging photography and letters, documenting their lives and sharing stories. Their combined efforts have culminated into a public show featuring letters and pictures, including panoramic and black/white photographs taken with 35-mm film cameras.
A handful of the South Dakota youth will make their way to Venice to attend the in-house show and to meet some of their pen pals.
The reception will be held Saturday, August 6 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m at Venice Arts, located at 1702 Lincoln Blvd.
