Community Corner

Windward School 7th Grade Food Challenge Community Forum

Windward’s 7th grade Life Science classes have been working on projects to improve the health of their community through food, both locally and globally.

Some student efforts have included: hosting an organic day at Windward’s campus kitchen, creating a Museum of Fast Food to raise awareness, conducting outreach at the Mar Vista Farmers Market, delivering lunches to OPCC in Santa Monica, and writing a bill to the state legislature advocating for the clarity of labeling on chicken packaging.

At this forum, students will be presenting their work and discussing their findings and experiences. Interested members of the local community are invited to come learn more about these projects and discover new ways to make an impact.
