Area Restaurants Closed by Health Department

Violations include vermin infestation and harborage, sewage and low scores.

Five restaurants in the Venice-Mar Vista area were closed by the County of Los Angeles Public Health department for different code violations.

Charly Peter Temmel, Monkee's Teriyaki and China Wok were shuttered for vermin infestation and harborage. Aqui es Oaxaca Market was closed for sewage and Wacky Wok  for scoring below 70 twice within a 12-month period, according to the department's website.

Charly Peter Temmel, 1313 Ocean Front, was closed May 10 and re-opened May 11. Monkee's Teriyaki, 1801 Ocean Front Walk, was closed June 12 and re-opened June 15. China Wok, 11279 Venice Blvd., was closed June 13 and re-opened June 17.

Aqui Es Oaxaca, 11614 Venice Blvd., was closed June 12 and re-opened June 13.

Wacky Wok, 2805 Abbot Kinney Blvd., was closed July 18 and re-opened July 19.
