More than 50 local businesses participated last year, according to Donna Lasman, executive director of the Venice Chamber of Commerce.

"It's kind of like an expanded mixer," Lasman said. "It's an opportunity for our members to showcase in the community and for one another their products and services."

The event is open to the public. Tickets are $5, and valet parking will be available for the first time this year, according to Lasman.

The Venice Chamber of Commerce's 2013 Business Expo will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, at the Boys and Girls Club of Venice located at 2232 Lincoln Blvd. To find out how to sign up, call 310-822-5425, or register online.
