Boycott 220 Fitness

Boycott 220 Fitness

Dear Friends and Neighbors - Please join me in boycotting 220 Fitness on Main until they stop utilizing door hangars to promote their business.  Apparently they think that the vile advertising tactic of papering our neighborhood with paper flyers that end up all over our streets and sidewalks is the best way to promote their business.  I've tried several times to engage the mgmt in person, on the phone, and via email to no avail. Unfortunately there is no law against this litter tactic but I would have hoped that a large business in the heart of our community would be a little more environmentally conscious and socially aware.  I'd also guess that the craptastic sign they place out on Main St across from Chaya isn't legal either. Here's a quick photo showing the after effects of their litter blast - 5 flyers on the street/sidewalk on Rose between Hampton and 3rd alone (and a bonus pic of their illegal signage)...

Its called freedom of speech. Small right we still have. Anyways i dont see what they are doing as wrong also they are employing people as well. You seem like a bitter person concerned neighbor . I would hate to have you as my neighbor .

What I do is, I pick up as many as I can and toss them. That way they can do what they want but their "advertising" is in the garbage can. Hope this helps.

Beach rider - Freedom of speech doesn't equal freedom to litter. Their need to promote their business doesn't give them license to trash our neighborhood. It's almost 2 weeks after thier drop and there are still dozens of their flyers on the sidewalks and streets. Maybe you don't get these where you live but we get literally 10+ per week and it's obnoxious.
Phyllis - please come by rose and pick up as many as you can. I'll drop you a note every time they do this.

Better Dead - I'm the furthest thing from a Pinko - but litter is litter - trash is trash. I'm surprised that folks that are obsessed about recycling, keeping the beach clean, and scream about what goes into our storm drains don't mind when a commercial enterprise dumps hundreds of pounds of paper on the street...
