3.5 Earthquake Occurs 45 Miles East of Downtown Los Angeles

A small earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.5 occurs about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with an epicenter near Fontana.

A small earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.5 was reported Tuesday afternoon with an epicenter about 45 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, according a report from the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake was reported at 1:30 p.m. with an epicenter about four miles north of Fontana in San Bernardino County, according to the USGS Web site.

The Associated Press reported that there were no calls for help.
