Clear Skies, Good Books – It Must Be Friday

We've got some fun things and some scary things to think about today.

1. Up and about with nothing to do? Whole Foods is offering healthy snacks this morning from 9 a.m. - noon. Free snacks? We're there.

2. The 2010 Nobel Prize Literature was awarded to Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa. "He's just a wonderful storyteller," says Bonnie, at Small World Books. She recommends "Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter" and "Death in the Andes."  Small World just sold out of "Aunt Julia," but they promise to have that and other Llosa titles in next week.

3. Oh, man. Scientists are saying that the infamous "big one" we're due for might be even bigger than previously imagined. A San Andreas earthquake could be 340 miles long and 8.1 magnitude. Just another reason to check out the prepareness workshop tomorrow!

4. I don't think this is what they meant by Knott's Scary Farm: 10 people were injured Thursday night at the amusement park when a roller coaster couldn't make it up the incline and rolled backward into another car.

5. TGIS! Yeah, yeah, I know it's Friday. Thank goodness it's SUNNY. The forecast for the weekend is lovely. Sun and seventies. Come back and check out our weekend preview later to see what's going on.
