According to the U.S. Geological Survey, which keeps track of these things, there was a slight tremor at 6:24 a.m. in the Channel Islands region. The epicenter of the 3.3-magnitude quake was 4 miles SSW from Malibu, which would be NNW from Venice (see map).

Last, but not least, on our notables: Tuesday night at 6:30 at Westminster Avenue Elementary, the Venice Neighborhood Council holds a public meeting on Councilman Bill Rosendahl's . On Wednesday, the City Council's transportation committee, chaired by Rosendahl, will discuss amendments to the city charter that will allow RVs to park in designated areas while people in the program transition into permanent housing.
