Summer officially starts on Tuesday, but Venice's King (that would be Neptune, god of the sea, of course) has already bestowed summer upon us in a special appearance on Saturday afternoon at the first annual Neptune Parade and Festival.
Emerging from the water at 3 p.m., the king was greeted by a crowd of revelers, who honored him with music, food and drink.
