Know It Now: A Heat Wave, and Heat on Venice 311

Shut down your computer and get out to the beach!

It's another beautiful day in Venice. When the rest of the city sweats it out, we get to enjoy perfect summer weather. Be prepared for some additional traffic, though, as inlanders come out to share in the cool Pacific effect.

Of course, heat brings extra air-conditioning, so LADWP has offered some tips on how to stay cool while conserving energy for our earth-friendly readers. 

L.A. Weekly ran a long piece on Wednesday about Venice's very own Venice 311, a website and Twitter account run by Alex Thompson. Topics covered: Gentrification, felonies (Thompson's), snark, the LAPD,the Red Hot Chili Peppers, misspellings, and more! The question for us is: Do you still trust Venice 311? Does it matter who is behind the police scanner tweets?
