Know It Now: Discount Tours, Santa Monica Airport News, and Another Boardwalk Ordinance Meeting

News and notes from Venice Patch.

The gorgeous weekend weather continued into Monday this week, but forecasts are calling for rain in Venice on Wednesday. The sun should come back by the end of the week, but whether we'll continue our Indian summer remains to be seen.

Online discount site Zozi is offering a deal in Venice right now. For $144 (normally twice that), three people can go on an electric bicycle tour of Venice and Santa Monica. The trip from Pedal Or Not includes lunch and goes for three or four hours.

On Tuesday, the Santa Monica City Council is devoting a "study session" to issues around the Santa Monica Airport. (You might be familiar with it, as the flight path for planes coming and going from SMO goes over Venice). The session begins at 6:30 p.m. and will look at the "Santa Monica Airport Campus Phase I Public Process findings." For more information on what that means, go here.

Another Venice-related city meeting happens on Wednesday. The Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Commission will again consider whether to approve a draft ordinance that would regulate vending on the Venice Boardwalk. The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m., is open to the public, and will be at the Expo Center downtown. (Map here).
