Pedestrian Severely Injured in Mar Vista

Man suffered head trauma.

Police on Wednesday are investigating a car crash in Mar Vista that severely injured a pedestrian.

The man, who is around 45, suffered severe head trauma when he was struck while crossing the street around 5:50 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Venice Boulevard and Centinela Avenue, said Sgt. Rita Woodle, watch commander of the Los Angeles Police Department's West Traffic Bureau.

He was taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Westwood, she said, adding that the driver stopped at the scene and was not cited.
