Santa Monica Airport Earth Day Rally Brings Out the Crowds
Protesters are out in force at Santa Monica Airport on Friday to voice their concerns over propeller airplanes using leaded gasoline.
A large contingent of protesters turned out for Friday's Earth Day rally at Santa Monica Airport, including 36th Congressional District candidate Marcy Winograd, who joined neighbors to protest the dangers of leaded gasoline being used in propeller planes.
Protesters say six area flight schools are the main culprits and the hundreds of daily practice flights also create noise pollution.
The protest came just two days after the Los Angeles City Council by Councilman Bill Rosendahl that he put together with fellow Councilwoman Janice Hahn. Hahn is also running in the 36th Congressional District race.
