Temporary Ferris Wheel Proposed for Venice Beach

UK-based Great City Attractions is scheduled to present a proposal for a temporary observation wheel at Windward Plaza on Venice Beach.

The Los Angeles City Department of Recreation and Parks will hold a public meeting Monday over a temporary Ferris wheel proposed for Windward Plaza on Venice Beach.

The "Great Observation Wheel" can sit atop an existing concrete slab and can be installed in about 10 days and removed within a week. Nigel Ward, of United Kingdom-based Great City Attractions, will make a presenation on the proposed wheel at the meeting.

Great City Attractions is the world's leading operator of observation wheels with rides ranging from 130-feet to 540-feet. The electric observation wheels provide panoramic, 360-degree views day and night.

The meeting will be held Monday, March 5, at the Westminster Senior Citizen Facility, 1234 Pacific Ave. in Venice. It is scheduled to run from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
