Third Annual Summer Fest Is This Weekend

Here are some of the things going on in Venice on Saturday and Sunday.

While much of the country suffers through sweltering weahter, Venice remains as pleasant as always. The sun will come and go this weekend, as it has for the past couple of days. Look for the marine layer to appear Saturday morning, and partly cloudy skies Sunday. Highs will be in the low 70s.

On Friday, will be at The Talking Stick from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Free with the purchase of a drink or food.

Beyond Baroque is hosting authors on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

's wine tasting selection for the weekend will be "Port: More than just Portugal." Flights of three Portuguese red wines will be poured for $10. Friday from 6 p.m. to close, Saturday from 1 p.m. to close, and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

At Electric Lodge, stop by for the second weekend of the original production of  a play by Jo D. Jonz. Showtimes and ticket prices at the link. The play is running weekends through Aug. 20.

Saturday kicks off the on Ocean Front Walk, a two-day music event with 60 bands. It'll be going down just south of Windward, all day Saturday and Sunday.

Don't forget that Saturdays are Much Love Animal Rescue's days at the corner of Abbot Kinney and Venice boulevards. and check out some of the cuties Patch has been featuring as Pet of the Week.

There is a special bonus pet adoption this weekend, as will be holding its . That adoption session will be from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday

You just about said itRead More all...I would only add that if people get a chance during the holiday to view the movie version of Fiddler On The Roof they will get a truly inspiring feeling for what it meant - and means - to be Jewish.
