Venice Art Walk Will Take Place This Weekend

The Venice Art Walk is scheduled for this weekend, and there are still tickets available.

The walk, which is celebrating its 34th year, aims to showcase the creative talents of local artists. The festivities will take place on Sunday, May 19, and will feature a silent auction as well as a "Family Fun Day." All of the activities will take place at Google’s headquarters at 340 Main St. and will benefit the Venice Family Clinic.

Tickets for the Art Walk are $50, and two tours are available. There is one from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. focusing on houses east of Lincoln Boulevard. A second tour, featuring artwork west of Abbot Kinney, is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. The silent auction will take place from 1 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

The day will include activities the entire family can enjoy together, according to Laney Kapgan, chief development officer and director of development at Venice Family Clinic.

"This year’s Venice Art Walk & Auctions features an incredible array of activities, from a 350-plus piece contemporary art auction to all new studio tours and a community celebration with food trucks, live bands, performance artists and a family fun day for kids," Kapgan said. "We look forward to welcoming guests at Google in Venice for the second year in a row and appreciate the community support that raises critical funds for patients at Venice Family Clinic."

The Venice Family Clinic offers medical care for the uninsured or those who are unable to pay for medical services.

This year's Art Walk will also pay tribute to the work of artists, John Van Hamersveld and Larry Bell.
