News and notes for Tuesday, July 19, 2011.

It's the third Tuesday of the month, which means that the Venice Neighborhood Council will be back in action at Westminster Avenue Elementary School at 7 p.m.

On the docket for the meeting is (from the VNC):

  • A motion opposing LAX development that would require demolition or relocation of Westchester business or the construction of tunnels on Lincoln Boulevard and that passenger volume be limited.
  • A resolution recommending that the LA City Council oppose development of a parcel in Marina Del Rey (on county land) until a review of impacts on city residents is completed.
  • A motion supporting revocation of the alcohol license belonging to La Fortuna Market (824 Lincoln Blvd).
  • A motion opposing new increases in Los Angeles Department of Water and Power rates.

Stop by and make your voice heard on any of these issues. Plus: Snacks!
