Venice Woman Now Missing for One Year, Sweet Tooths Needed and L.A. No. 1 in Water Conservation

Here are some news and notes for Friday, July 15.

The weather report is calling for temps in the low 70s and clear skies all weekend.

The LAPD is still seeking assistance in locating a Venice woman who went missing exactly one year ago. Nancy Barrett was last seen on July 14, 2010, on the 2600 block of Grand Canal Court. According to the statement by the LAPD, "Barrett moved from her apartment to her car, which was parked in front of her former home. She abandoned her car and possessions and left the area under unknown circumstances. She has not been seen or heard from since, and her family is extremely concerned for her welfare."

Barrett is a 53-year-old white female with brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds. It is now likely that Barrett’s hair is extremely gray. If you have any information as to her whereabouts, please contact .

The Sierra Club recently ranked the cities in Los Angeles and Orange counties, and the city of Los Angeles is doing the "best job of enacting water conservation measures." It would be interesting to see how we fare against the rest of the country, but at least in the surrounding areas we're No. 1!

Have a great weekend, Venice.
