VIDEO: The View of the Venus Transit 2012 from Super Hi-Def NASA Camera

In case you missed seeing the Venus Transit from Venice, so here's what it looked like from NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory.

If you missed the last week — or just want a better view of it — check out this video, taken by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory.

The observatory's main purpose is to examine the sun's atmosphere and the video captures images about eight times better than HDTV, according to NASA.

On June 5, it captured the across the face of the sun, an event that won't happen again until 2117. The best views in the contiguous U.S. were in the west. For those of us on the east, this might be the best view we'll get.

Let me clarify: All I tried to do was re-link to the video that was dumped when Patch revised itsRead More format. The Festival of the Chariots won't be coming to Venice for months.

One year, long ago, Alice Coltrane performed. Anyone know the year? Definitely in the 70's.
