Week in Review: Cesar Chavez Week, Windward Boys and Girls Hoops Take State Titles and Prop. 8 Judge Is Involved in a Car Accident

The week started off overcast and rainy, and ended with dark clouds. Nonetheless, the LAPD Pacific Division brought out the crowds for its annual fundraiser. Here's our top five stories from March 27 - April 2.

1. The LAPD Pacific Division closed down Culver Blvd. over three afternoons last weekend to host its Fundraiser for its youth programs. Carnival fare and rides drew the crowds, despite the weather.

2. Windward Girls and Boys Hoops teams showed their mettle, with both teams winning the state championships in back-to-back games in Sacramento. , while the boys kept .

3. Federal Court Judge Stephen Reinhardt injured his knee when he was hit by another car  The 80-year-old judge sits on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and was one of the three judges that ruled last week gay marriages could not go ahead in California while Prop. 8 is still under review.
