WIndy Weather

The weekend calls for more high winds along the coast and strong gusts in canyons and valleys.

Hold onto your hats. We’re in for more wind. According to the National Weather Service, which has issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook Wind Advisory” for much of Los Angeles and the South Bay. The Weather Service forecast through the weekend:

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 43. North wind around 15 mph. 

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 60. North northeast wind between 10 and 15 mph. 

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 46. North northeast wind around 10 mph. 

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 66. North northeast wind around 10 mph. 

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 46. Calm wind becoming north northwest around 5 mph. 

The wind advisory states, “The most susceptible areas for the strong winds will be through and below northeast facing passes and canyons. Strong gusty winds are also expected in Los Angeles County coastal sections below the Santa Monica Range.”

The wind advisory remains in effect from 7 am Friday to 3 pm Saturday.

Severe wind knocked down trees, power lines and signs in the area earlier this month.
