Saturday, February 2, 9am-noon, (moved from 1/26 due to rain), creek bike path entrance, Centinela Ave. & Milton St., Los Angeles, CA 90066.


Help BCR clean the creek of ocean-bound trash at this attractive mini-park, where the incoming tide meets the outgoing runoff.


Open to volunteers of all ages!

Birds, fish, and reeds co-habit the area, so remember to respect and protect while you collect!

Thanks to these volunteers. I hope they also get that invasive plant parasite, the salt marsh dodder. Some well-intentioned but oafish amateur "restored" the area there with that plant several years ago, and it took over, killing many native plants. In 1903, salt marsh dodder were part of the large dunes and brackish lake there. Someone reintroduced it without permits or proper study, causing an ecological disaster in the name of instituting Ballona restoration. Amateurs have their time and proper role, such as this clean-up. Hats off!
