Of Ancient Sherds and Modern Rims: Tea & Talk with Egyptian archaeologist Sonali Gupta-agarwal

Join us for a presentation by Sonali
Gupta-agarwal, a PhD candidate in the Archaeology Program at UCLA.  Sonali will show two short films made in
India and Egypt as part of her fieldwork. 
The films take us into modern day workshops of traditional potters,
providing a fascinating glimpse of their tools and techniques, and helping bridge
the gap between the past and present for archaeologists studying ancient sherds.  After the screenings, Sonali will lead an
interactive discussion about her experiences, research and significance of pottery
as seen through the eyes of an archaeologist.
