Benefit Performance at The Talking Stick in Venice, CA this Thurs., July 11 for Victims of the Moore, Oklahoma Tornado
Tracy Newman and Severin Browne present a Benefit for Victims of the Tornado in Moore, Oklahoma at The Talking Stick in Venice, CA on Thursday, July 11 from 7-10 PM. No RSVP necessary. We're raising money for something so specific that we'll actually be able to see the result: Severin Browne has been looking into a situation at Highland West Junior High School in Moore, Oklahoma -- "the tornado destroyed the gym and the van room. All the instruments for the band were kept in a storage area next to the gym so they lost everything. The band director, Angie Taylor, has taken it upon herself to raise the money to replace the instruments, because there's no money from Moore Public Schools. So the Jr. High Band is my choice to send the money to." We have a contact person who will be in charge of making sure the money hits its mark. We're asking a $20 donation and we're putting on a songwriter extravanganza with the following people: Bill Berry, Kevin Fisher, Marty Axlerod, Tracy Newman, Cynthia Carle and Severin Browne. BTW - The Talking Stick is vegetarian now. Excellent vegetarian. Good enough for non-vegetarians. Ample free parking. Great vibe. See you there!
