The mission of the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA) is to protect and preserve park and open space lands surrounding Los Angeles and strive to make these lands accessible to all residents of Southern California.  The Division of Education and Interpretation offers many programs for the public including free summer campfires, hikes, and skills-based programs.  More than a thousand students participate in MRCA Residential Outdoor Education programs each year.  Our MRCA Junior Rangers program empowers urban youth to become stewards of their environment.  We also offer free bus trips to local parks for families lacking access to green spaces in their neighborhoods.  Your participation in programs like the Wilderness Survival Workshops help support these other great programs for the people of greater Los Angeles.  More info at LAmountains.com
