Back to School Donation Drive

The start of a new school year is right around the corner and Councilmember Bill Rosendahlwants to make sure homeless and low-income families in Los Angeles are prepared with the tools they need for academic succcess.

In order to better equip Westside children for the academic year, the Councilman is urging constituents to donate and drop off  school supplies at any of his three council offices from August 7th through August 17th.

“Educating our children is a top priority for our district and community,” said Rosendahl. “Together we can provide homeless and low-income youth with some of the basic materials they will need in order to succeed.”

All donations will go to St Joseph Center‘s low-income and/or homeless clients. Here is a  list of suggested items:

Writing Utensils:  Pens, No. 2 pencils, lead, pencil sharpeners, erasers, white-out, highlighters, markers, crayons, colored pencils

Other Basics:  Backpacks, spiral-bound or composition notebooks, 3-ring binders, notebook paper, calculators, rulers, glue sticks, liquid glue, scissors, pocket folders, scotch tape, staplers, index cards, red-ink pens,

Again, these items can be dropped off during business hours at any of the 11th District council offices through August 17th.
