Narrow Lot Spawns Ocean Front Architectural Masterpiece

A Venice architect's work is featured for its creative solution for a narrow ocean front lot.

Ocean front property can present its issues.

In the case of a Venice home, developers were faced with a narrow 28-foot by 89-foot lot that required ingenuity and a thoughtful design.

The project was designed by Venice-based David Hertz & Studio of Environmental Architecture. Hertz calls this project the Panel House. The property received the 2009 American Architecture Award by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, according to Hertz' website.

Details of the Panel House's design and construction elements can be found on Hertz' website.

In April, Hertz gave a "Bike the Beach" Venice tour as part of the Venice Art Walk.
