Sizzling Weather Expected For Last Weekend of Summer

Temperatures may reach the mid-80s at the beach and in the South Bay and the 90s on the Westside and in South L.A. County.

A wave of dry heat will sweep over the region Friday and Saturday, pushing temperatures to the mid-80s at the beaches and mid-90s away from the coast before the official start of fall next week.

Temperatures will begin to drop on Sunday and Monday, but forecasted temperatures in the 80s are still higher than normal, according to the National Weather Service

To stay safe in the heat, drink plenty of non-alcoholic beverages, wear light-colored and loose-fitting clothing, and never leave pets, children or the elderly in a vehicle. Avoid strenuous exercise during the hottest parts of the day.

In Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach, the highs for Friday are about 88 degrees, 94 degrees on Saturday and 83 degrees on Sunday.

In Brentwood, Westwood and Culver City, the highs for Friday are about 91 degrees, 97 degrees on Saturday and 87 degrees on Sunday.

In Santa Monica, Venice, Pacific Palisades and Marina del Rey, the highs for Friday are about 83 degrees, 90 degrees on Saturday and 80 degrees on Sunday.

In Cerritos, the highs for Friday are about 96 degrees, 98 degrees on Saturday and 88 degrees on Sunday.

In Long Beach, the highs for Friday are about 95 degrees, 97 degrees on Saturday and 87 degrees on Sunday. Closer to the beaches, temperatures will be in the 80s.

In Palos Verdes, the highs for Friday are about 91 degrees, 98 degrees on Saturday and 88 degrees on Sunday.
