Week in Review: Ferris Wheel Proposal, Venice Record Holder, Pot Workers Unite

The proposal by a United Kingdom-based company to temporarily operate a 200-foot "Great Observation Wheel" on Windward Plaza in Venice Beach will be presented to the Venice Neighborhood Council board meeting in April. The plans for the 15-story attraction have raised concerns over parking and obstructing the view of the ocean. Details right here.

Venice High School graduate Andrea "Andi" Murez and three of her Stanford teammates set a national record at the 2012 NCAA Championships and she'll be training soon for the U.S. Olympics Trials. Murez set every school record at Venice High and was named the team's most valuable player each year. Details right here.

Workers at more than 10 Los Angeles-area medical marijuana dispensaries, including the Venice Beach Care Center in Venice, have joined the powerful Union, Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 770. Details right here.

You just about said itRead More all...I would only add that if people get a chance during the holiday to view the movie version of Fiddler On The Roof they will get a truly inspiring feeling for what it meant - and means - to be Jewish.
