Wet Weather Coming: Storm Forecast to Hit This Weekend

Another storm is forecast to hit Southern California into the weekend.

The National Weather Service is forecasting what it calls a "significant early season storm" later this week and into the weekend.

The storm may bring heavy rain and mountain snows to the southland Friday and into Saturday.

However, computer models are showing discrepancies on the exact timing of the storm system, according to the Weather Service.

“The current thinking is that rain will develop on the Central Coast late Thursday night…reaching the Los Angeles Basin sometime Friday or early Friday night,” according to a statement by the National Weather Service.

Temperatures in Mar Vista should hover around 68 degrees on Friday during the day with increasing clouds. On Friday night temperatures are expected to drop to around 51 degrees, and there's an 80 percent chance of rain.  On Saturday the temperature is expected to drop to about 60 with an 80 percent chance of showers, according to NWS forecasts. The low for Saturday night is also expected to be 51 degrees with a 40 percent chance of showers.
