House Arrest Doesn’t Mean House Party

Venice’s Lindsay Lohan is back in the news for throwing a party while under house arrest.

Lindsay Lohan is guilty of poor judgment.

For many of us, 35 days of house arrest would be a time for self-reflection, but it doesn't seem so for Lohan. The actress was back in court Thursday after photographs showed her partying on the roof of her Venice home while under house arrest for from on Abbot Kinney Boulevard.

"If you are in jail, you are not allowed to have parties. House arrest should be akin to jail," Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner told Lohan.

"Don't do stupid things that give people a reason to hate you. ... Don't do stupid things that fly in the face of the spirit of the court's order,” Sautner said.

The actress reportedly failed an alcohol test June 13, although her attorney insisted that the testing was done outside of the mandated sobriety period Lohan was serving for driving under the influence, another crime for which she served probation.

Lohan has been notified that she can no longer entertain more than one guest at a time while under house arrest. Let’s give Lohan the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the policy wasn’t clarified before.

Lohan could still have a wonderful life and career ahead of her. I sincerely hope she recognizes that the leniency from the courts is a chance for redemption.

Let me clarify: All I tried to do was re-link to the video that was dumped when Patch revised itsRead More format. The Festival of the Chariots won't be coming to Venice for months.

One year, long ago, Alice Coltrane performed. Anyone know the year? Definitely in the 70's.

Thank you, David, for your lucid and edifying dissertation on Passover. You just about said itRead More all...I would only add that if people get a chance during the holiday to view the movie version of Fiddler On The Roof they will get a truly inspiring feeling for what it meant - and means - to be Jewish.
