Alleged Violent Mar Vista Robber Identified

Police say the man went on a crime spree, stealing a truck and then committing several crimes.

The man police believe is responsible for a violent Mar Vista home invasion robbery Sunday night has been identified as Jason Faison.

Faison faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, multiple robbery counts and burglary, according to a police statement. The man, said to be 22 or 30, was taken into custody Monday. Los Angeles city officials released his name Thursday after he was arraigned at the Airport Courthouse on 11 felony charges he pleaded not guilty to.

Faison reportedly followed a 64-year-old Mar Vista resident home after surveying her car at a convenience store gas station at Bundy and National boulevards Sunday night. When he allegedly approached the victim at her home in the 12000 block of National Boulevard, he allegedly stabbed her, say police.

The woman was hospitalized for cuts and a fracture, and has since been released, according to authorities.

A criminal complaint filed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office prosecutors allege Faison stole a Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck on Sunday, robbing a man at knife point at a gas station. He next allegedly robbed a woman at a restaurant then hit a man with the truck when confronted.

One of the crimes took place in El Segundo, said police.

Faison is being held on $1.4 million bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in downtown Los Angeles.
