If you know how the man's relatives can be contacted, please contact the police.

Police say the man who apparently committed suicide by jumping from the top of a building in Venice Monday morning was a resident of the building.

The man, described as in his 40s or 50s, was seen walking on the roof of a four-story building in the 100 block of East Westminster Avenue, near the intersection with Innes Place, and then seen on the ground, said Lt. Steve Lurie of the Pacific Division of the Los Angeles Police Department Tuesday. Fire department personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Police have not been able to locate relatives of the man. His name will not be released until they do.
