Cessna Crashes at Santa Monica Airport

The accident happened around 6:20 p.m. when the plane landed.

A twin-jet Cessna Citation went off the right side of the runway and crashed into a hangar after landing at Santa Monica Airport Sunday, a Federal Aviation Administration official said.

It happened about 6:20 p.m., according to FAA spokesman Ian Gregor.

"We do not have information on the number of people on board or their conditions," Gregor said.

The plane had taken off from Hailey, Idaho.

Emergency personnel from the Santa Monica Fire Department were at the scene, authorities said.
