Crash on 170 Freeway in North Hollywood Closes 4 Lanes

A SigAlert is issued at 6:36 a.m.

A single-vehicle crash Sunday morning on the Hollywood (170) Freeway in North Hollywood has forced the closure of at least four traffic lanes, the California Highway Patrol said.

The condition of any injured people inside the vehicle was not immediately known, said CHP Officer Anthony Martin.

An official with the Los Angeles City Fire Department could not be reached for comment.

The crash on the northbound freeway at Burbank Boulevard was reported to the CHP at 6:30 a.m.

A SigAlert was issued at 6:36 a.m. closing the No. 2, 3, 4 and 5 and five lanes of the northbound freeway, as well as the Magnolia Boulevard onramp, for an unknown duration, according to the CHP.

anyone, but it sure seems like a lot of bad stuff happens on that 170.

Right?! Glad to see I'm not the only one who's noticed. I recently did a search of old maps online to see what was there before that freeway was built. Seems like some really bad mojo in that area. I didn't find anything; my research was cursory. I was quickly distracted by the archive of vintage photos of the Valley. I'm not especially superstitious but I avoid the cursed 170 as much as possible. (The amazing archive is here: http://waterandpower.org/museum/Early_Views_of_the_San_Fernando_Valley.html )

Thanks for sharing that archive link June! It's amazing. I just learned so much about our history here. I'm going to add this link to all of my real estate websites. I think many people will enjoy it. Regarding the cursed 170, I think Clive Barker would consider it a "cross roads" of sorts.
